The State Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Baridakara Gbarato has described the entire conjecture called Executive Order 21 by the state government as not only a show of Executive buffoonery but ineptitude in governance.
The State Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress stated this while reacting to news men at an event in Portharcourt.
According to him, He wondered why the Government of the state will embark on a fruitless journey and illegality just to frustrate other political parties.
On the issue of the derecognition of Sir Celestine Omehia, one wonders what has suddenly changed and why the same governor that accorded Sir Celestine Omehia the status of an Ex- governor with all previlleges even against a competent ruling of the Supreme Court has suddenly made a 360 degree u-turn using the same 9th Assembly to demand the refund of a free will donation from his office as Governor to Sir Celestine Omehia.
It is strange to say the least that all these among many others and the quest for the payment of the sum of 5 million naira as fine for the use of public facilities built with tax payers money by the government of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for campaigns, makes caricature of the state in the name of Order 21.
It is on record that in 2019 two weeks to election, the governor with his agent surreptitiously used the court to denied our party participation in elections, he is trying same again and because it will not work this time, he has resorted to using all kinds of tricks to stifle the other parties participation including payment of fine for campaign ground.
It is regrettably that instead of allowing participatory democracy that is being embraced in contemporary politics, the state government is doing every thing possible even illegitimate acts to stifle the opposition from effective campaigns for the fourth coming 2023 Election. This is a clear confirmation that He is afraid of any free and fair election as his brutality n rigging culture is old fashioned.
The state youth Leader stated that neither signing of the order nor any other antics of the governor will stop his party’s campaign; and eminent defeat of the PDP in the state.
We are wiser and no amount of intimidation will stop the youths from voting our candidates and seeing to the defeat of PDP in the state.
He urge the security agents to be up and doing to ensure that all political party’s are given level playing ground during the campaigns as the 2023 election approaches.
