Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Rumuola, Port Harcourt was established in 1977 as a School of Basic Studies to offer Senior School Certificate/Advanced GCE level, Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) moderated by Ahmadu Bello University, Matriculation Examination Program (MEP) moderated by Rivers State University of Science and Technology and Remedial Programs, UTME, JAMB/GCE preparatory classes.

1. LIBRARIAN CADRE

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (BLS) NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and must be computer literate.
(b) Librarian 1-CONPCASS 03 (CONTEDISS 9)
The candidate must have a good Bachelor’s degree (at least second class lower division) in Library Science (BLS) with at least three years post-qualification library experience or a Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) with evidence of scholarly publication in reputable journals and must be computer literate.
2. Library Officers Cadre (Non-Teaching)

Candidate must possess a National Diploma at credit level in Library and Information Science/Technology and must be computer literate.

9. SENIOR LECTURER-CONPCASS 07 (CONTEDISS 13)
The candidate must have a PhD in the relevant discipline with at least 9 years of teaching/research or industrial experience in a recognized institution of higher education or industry plus five articles published in reputable journals in the relevant field of study and six conference papers, or a master’s degree holder in the relevant science with 12 years of teaching/research or industrial experience in a recognized institution of higher learning with three conference papers, three journal articles or two chapter contributions to one or more standard textbooks. Membership in a relevant professional organization is mandatory.
10. LECTURER 1 – CONPCASS 06 (CONTEDISS 12)
The candidate must have a PhD degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized higher education institution plus three years of teaching/research or professional experience plus three journal articles published in reputable journals in the relevant field and four conference papers or a Master’s degree holder with six years of experience in teaching/research or industrial work, two articles published in reputed journals plus two conference papers. It is mandatory to send a member of the relevant professional organisation.
11. LECTURER 11 – CONPCASS 4 (CONTEDISS 11)
Candidate must possess a Doctorate degree in relevant discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning plus three articles published in reputable journals and three conference pa pers or holder of Master’s degree with two articles published in reputable journal(s) plus six years teaching/research or industrial work experience. Membership of relevant professional will be an advantage.
12. LECTURER 111 – CONPCASS 3 (CONTEDISS 9)
Candidate must have a Master’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning, one article published in a reputable journal, plus at least one conference paper

Conditions of Service
All successful candidates will be on probation for two (2) years of continuous service on assumption of duty up to the retirement age of 65 years. People over 50 do not need to apply. Other terms of service are similar to those obtainable in Nigerian Polytechnics regulated by the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) and the Rivers State Civil Service.
