Pastor Cole Pledges To Revive Ailing Educational, Agricultural Sector In Rivers State: As campaign train lands in Ikwerre LGA.
The dignity campaign train of the Rivers APC Governorship candidate, His Excellency, Pastor Tonye Cole mni and his deputy, Dr Innocent Barikor was today in Ikwerre local government area.
Addressing a tsunami of supporters who gathered at the IYM center, Isiokpo, headquarters of the LGA, Architect Cole spoke on a number of issues, including his plans to revive educational and agricultural fortunes of Ikwerre people.
He thanked the people for their support, their massive turn out and, especially not submitting to the Rivers State Government’s obnoxious executive order 21 and 22.
Tonye Cole urged the people to demonstrate their anger against Rivers PDP’s bad government through their votes for the APC.
“Thank you very much Ikwerre Local Govt for accepting us, We will get it right this time around, their Executive Orders can never stop us. You will vote and your vote will count, the result of your voting shall manifest our Victory”
“Your lands are enough for agricultural revolution, we can’t have the best garri in West Africa here in Ikwerre land and our middle belt people are bringing garri for us all the way from Benue State, its an error that we must correct as a purposeful government”.
“We have the best garri in Nigeria, Ogoni garri, Ikwerre garri and etche garri, we can’t have tremendous farmable land and bring garri from benue State”.
Pastor Cole expressed sadness over collapse in the educational sector put in place by the former government of Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi.
According to him, Rivers State had enjoyed a laudable educational policy under previous administration but the Nyesom Wike government killed it. Cole promised to revive the sector.
“We used to have free education for our children, free scholarships and free school buses for our children under Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi, now all of them are history, our children deserves better, Wike cannot abolish all these beautiful educational policies and establish task force government aimed at fighting businesses”.
“These and many more errors we are mandated to correct as a government.”
Earlier, the campaign train had visited the Palace of His Royal Highness, Eze Prof SN Nwekeh JP, Nyewe-Ali Igwuruta and other traditional institutions in Elele, to seek royal blessing.
The 2023 Rivers APC standard bearer, earlier before the rally in Isiokpo, had embacked on Door2door campaigns to traders in Igwuruta and Omagwa markets.
The rally featured presentation of APC flags to the national assembly candidate for Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency, Hon Ezemonye Ezekiel-Amadi and the Ikwerre state assembly candidate, Hon Byke Chikere Nwanjokwu by the state party chairman, High Chief Emeka Beke.
