IKONO/INI 2023: DR. GLORY EDET WINS CONVINCINGLY IN INI, FLOORS UKPONG-UDO WITH OVER 2000 VOTES
The PDP Candidate for Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Dr. Glory Edet, has defeated her main challenger, Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo of YPP in Ini LGA.
In a result announced at INEC office, Odoro Ikpe, Dr. Edet floored Ukpong-Udo with over 2,000 votes.
However, the declaration of final result was suspended as INEC declared elections in Ikono LGA inconclusive, owing to violence perpetrated by YPP thugs which disrupted elections in Itak Ward 11 and other units.
It should be noted that Itak Ward 11 is the vote bank of Ikono LGA with over 9,000 votes.
Meanwhile, the Ikono/Ini hopeful has
advised her supporters to ignore the purported result of the election from Ikono as published online by rumour mongers in the opposition party and charged them to remain calm while assuring them of landslide victory.
God’s Glory will be done in Ikono-Ini.
